Well…this is the first time I’ve head of the word “techonomy”
which this article refers to as the “increasingly sophisticated and
highly-connected consumer expect[ing] more from brands.” Apparently though this is actually a word (some) people use. There's a website dedicated to it, techonomy.com
and even industry events. Who knew?
and even industry events. Who knew?
The new techonomy consumer
demands:
- personalization
- relevance
- convenience
- simplicity
- proximity
To me, that sounds something like the demand for mass
customization in technology, which we might agree isn’t anything remarkably
new, especially when you consider how quickly the tech market innovates. The article goes on to give some detail, more
or less about social business
which I established in an earlier post.
I think most of what is said here can be summed up with the evolution
and proliferation of apps, although I do think this article has some forward
looking insight.
