Mobile Advertising

I was at Cyperposium 18 at Harvard Business School last week and attended Mobile advertising panel discussion, consists of people from companies such as Kiwi Inc., Google, Jumptap, Mr. Youth, Activate (Moderator). The panel made it clear that any product that you develop need to consider having application on the mobile as they predict desktops/laptops going to be legacy and Mobile devices is the future. Even though there are many challenges exist in Mobile advertisement as given the small screen displaying the ads and identifying the consumer likeliness of products from click through rates while not pissing off the customers is very important.

As holidays approaching, I was curious how much of sales going tocome from Mobile advertisement. According to eMarketer, it is 6%..more below. Go Mobile Advertising!.

Mobile ad network Jumptap expected significant lift in traffic and clickthrough rates for mobile ads run during the holiday season, according to November estimates. For Christmas Eve, when there are still a few last-minute shoppers desperate for gifts, Jumptap anticipated seeing an 11% increase in traffic to mobile ads and a 3% increase in clickthrough rate compared with the non-holiday-season average.
