These days, the mass audience is
getting shift to mobile and advertisers are increasingly eager to find
effective ways to advertise on mobile platforms, even though mobile advertising is
still early and ads on smart phones tend to be less lucrative than those
delivered to a desktop audience, so far. That’s because majority expect that
mobile ad market is going to be huge in the future. Along this trend, It seems
that Facebook can offer a great ad tool for people. According to
the article, Facebook Inc. is
testing a mobile ad network, a tool that helps users and developers advertise
their wares, the ads designed to drive downloads of software applications on
mobile devices. I strongly believe that a Facebook mobile ad network, if
successful and widely adopted, would dramatically increase the amount of money
media and tech companies are able to make in the next decade.
Nowadays, the problem of mobile ad is that
mobile app publishers do not have the enough amount of information about the
people who are using their apps and looking at their ad inventory. That’s why very
old-fashioned models are still widely being used in mobile ad industry. But I
am sure that Facebook will solve the problem by taking mobile user ID, and
checking the cookies the same user's browser had last time he or she logged
into Facebook or visited one of the pages tracked by Facebook's data partners. If
the Facebook mobile ad network works out, it is a positive influence on several
constituencies: First, Facebook will
allow Advertisers to reach customers on mobile, a platform that is going to be
bigger than desktop by the end of the decade. Second, the company will
encourage App developers to monetize through targeted advertising. Lastly, Facebook
will lead Users to have more and better apps to use because there will be a
better financial for developers to make them.
