The "New Yahoo" lead by Marissa Mayer is underway. The first major acquisition "Stamped" described in the above link is a fairly small start up but a good indication of the refocusing of the company.
Some groups of investors have historically been very sceptics about turnaround in the technology space. I wonder how this one is going to play out.

I applaud Marissa Meyer for attempting to change the culture of Yahoo. She's (not surprisingly) trying to Google-ize the place. Yet Yahoo doesn't have Google's revenue and has a weightier infrastructure on its portal due to content. If she can turn Yahoo into the type of innovator Google is, then there's a chance for success. But they don't have to capital to make a massive amount of acquisitions. And I say she has 2 years to show headway before the board gets impatient. She's off to a good start though.
