My post revolves around two topics discussed in the eMarketer articles that you can access from here and also here.
Who are these guys looking up restaurants in their smartphones? Those hungry at the moment, looking for somewhere to sit and have their meal.
A recent study in the US shows that most of the restaurant related searches by the smartphone and tablets are for the location of the restaurant. One of the interesting results from this study is that, mostly people are looking for the near place to eat and if the restaurant has their food when using their smartphones, rather than taking a look at the reviews. What is more interesting is that reviews become more interesting among the tablet users rather than smartphone users. And smartphone users care more about the type match and the closeness to their location. So this shows that depending on the device their using however slightly different points of attention might be different. Just a place to sit and eat is mostly seen among smarphoners.
