Next trends in Location Services and User Generated Contents

I came across two new technology trend in the area of location services and user generated content that are currently evolving; however these next generation digital trend can provide the next great opportunities for marketers.
Location Services is currently used heavily by Google to generate search results and of course the success of foursquare cannot be ignored. However, it will be interesting to watch how NFC (Near field communication) devices such as Google wallets and others can change the dynamic and take it to the next level. Now that these devices will be communicating to each other, it will be easier pop a few related ads on the mobile app when a phone is near a certain device for example near a cab/taxi.
Another, interesting trend that came to mind when reading about a company that has taken UGC (User generated content) to a whole new level.  Although, UGC is not new however companies such as “Pintrest”, takes it to define what we can call as “digital word of mouth”. Content producers and merchants provide the feeds, and consumers tweak them to suit their interests and contexts, filtering data and curating personalized information platforms.
