As Japanese television OEMs are currently engaged in a price war with their South Korean and Chinese counterparts, innovation is becoming a critical strategy in their battle for existence. Sony, Panasonic, and many other players are focusing their efforts on spurring consumer demand through creating advanced internet connected televisions with improved user experience (UX). As OEMs push these harder to copy products to consumers, an entirely new opportunity for app developers will emerge.
How would you like to engage with your TV? Will interactive applications be allowed to interpret the content you are watching instantaneously? Would you want them to?
